BLANCHE ZEHRING DIES AT AGE 83
Dr. Blanche Zehring, 83, former educator and YWCA worker and for years a prominent resident of this city, died last Friday evening at the Methodist home for the aged in Cincinnati. She died in her sleep and was found in her room Saturday morning by the attendants when she failed to report for breakfast.
Dr. Zehring was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan university and later attended Yale divinity school where she obtained a doctor of philosophy degree.
She was employed for years as a traveling secretary for the Young Women's Christian Association. Later she was a member of the faculty of Wells college of Aurora N. Y., where she taught biblical history. She traveled abroad on two different occasions to visit the biblical areas of Palestine and surrounding countries to familiarize herself with the sources of her teaching material.
Dr. Zehring was born April 26, 1867, in Miamisburg, the daughter of Lewis H. Zehring. Her father was a former school teacher and former secretary of the Mutual Federal Savings and Loan association in this city. He was also a representative from this county to the Ohio state legislature and for many years was a justice of the peace for Miami township.
The only surviving relatives of Dr. Zehring are a cousin, Doran Dosch, of Bradenton, Fla., and three cousins, Wilbur Mitchell of Miamisburg, Helen Mitchell of Centerville, and Mrs. Andrew Murphy of Dayton.
Dr. Zehring was active in organizations while a resident of this city. She was a member of the Monday Night Club, the Dayton Women's club, and the College Women's club of Dayton. She was also active in the Methodist church.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the chapel of the Methodist home for the aged. Her body will be cremated and the ashes brought to this city for burial in Hill Grove cemetery.

CHARLES ZEHRING 75, BURIED HERE
Charles E. Zehring of Richmond, Ind., was born and raised in Miamisburg but had lived the past 26 years in Richmond, died last Thursday night at the age of 75 at his Richmond home.
Surviving are his widow, Susie; three sons, Curtis and James of Miamisburg, and Fred of San Francisco; a sister, Mrs. Elva Getter of Miamisburg; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Zehring was in the dairy and later in the grocery business in Miamisburg but moved to Richmond in 1925. He was a member of the Lutheran church, Minerva Lodge, 98, F&AM, Junior Order of United American Mechanics, and the Daughters of America, all of Miamisburg.
The body remained at the Jones and Placke funeral home, Richmond, Sunday, and services were held from the Gebhart and Schmidt funeral home Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. Herbert Hamburger of the Ingomar Lutheran church officiated at the service and burial was in Hillgrove cemetery.

PARALYSIS FATAL TO LOCAL WOMAN
WIDOW OF LATE ISAAC ZEHRING, TOWNSHIP OFFICIAL, TAKEN BY DEATH EARLY SUNDAY
FUNERAL SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY
Stricken with paralysis while returning home shortly before one o'clock on the morning of New Years Day, Mrs. Emma Jane Summers Zehring, 69, widow of the late Isaac Zehring, for many years township official, passed away at her home 408 South Main street, at 3:45 o'clock Sunday morning.
Mrs. Zehring had been enjoying apparent good health and had spent New Years eve with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Leiser, at the William Leiser home on East Pearl street. Alighting from the ear in front of her home she began to fall and was caught by her son-in-law. The attack rendered her speechless. After she had been assisted into her home, a physician was summoned and upon arrival found her in a state of coma from which she was never roused. The attack affected her entire right side.
In August of 1933, it is believed she suffered a light stroke, from which she quickly rallied.
Mrs. Zehring was a native of Myersville, Md. where she was born December 14, 1865. Her entire married life was spent in Miamisburg, but prior to that time resided at Colburn, Ind. She was a member of the Lutheran church and was also active in affairs of the Margaret Sangster club.
Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Leiser; one son, Edward, of Tulsa, Okla. who arrived here soon after his mother was stricken; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Benner and Mrs. E. T. Munea; two brothers, Samuel Summers of Lafayette, Ind., and Joseph Summers of Topeka, Kas. She also leaves a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the residence and at two o'clock from First Lutheran church with Rev. C. H. Starkey officiating. Burial was in Hill Grove cemetery.

ZEHRING FUNERAL HELD WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Miss Jane Zehring, 74, who died at her home, 424 South Fifth street, Sunday morning at 6:45 o'clock, following an illness extending over four and one-half years, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. from the residence with Rev. C. H. Starkey, pastor of the First Lutheran church, of which she was a member her entire life, officiating. Interment was made in Hill Grove cemetery.
Born in Miamisburg, September 8, 1863she was the daughter of Isaac and Sarah Zehring. Except for a few years in Warren county, she was a resident of Miamisburg, her entire life. She was a well known seamstress. The cause of her life was paralysis.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Elva Getter, Miss Mary Zehring and Miss Margaret Zehring, all at home, and one brother, Charles Zehring of Richmond, Ind.

In declining health for the past several years and seriously ill since early December, Atty Robert H. Zehring, 77, well-known Miamisburg Attorney for almost half a century, died at St. Elizabeth hospital Dayton, Sunday afternoon.
Funeral services with Gebhart and Schmidt and the Brough Memorial funeral homes cooperating, were scheduled for 11 a. m. Wednesday at the funeral home of the former on East Linden avenue. Officiating clergymen will be the Rev. A. Rajala, Pastor of First Lutheran church, and Rev. Joseph W. Frease of Springfield, former pastor. Burial will be in Hill Grove cemetery.
Atty. Zehring was born in Miamisburg November 16, 1882 and was graduated from Miamisburg high school in 1900. He attended Ohio State University and later resumed his studies at the University of Cincinnati where he received his law degree and was admitted to the bar in 1912. His practice extended over 47 years and he was joined in the practice by his son, Robert H. Jr., several years ago with offices in the Mutual Federal building, 23 Central avenue.
In the early 1920's he was named attorney for the Mutual Federal Savings and Loan Association. In 1931 he was elected a director of the association and was eventually named vice-president. He was a member of the First Lutheran church and fraternally was affiliated with the I.O.O.F., Knights of Pythias, Minerva Lodge, No. 98, FAM., Adoniram Council, no. 131. He served for many years as a secretary of the Miamisburg Pythlan Association and was a past patron of W. A. Reiter Chapter, No. 439. Order of Eastern Star. He held membership in the American and Ohio Bar Associations.
Surviving are his wife, Fannie Dodds Zehring; two daughters, Mrs. William (Martha) Fornshell, Mrs. Don (Lois) Robinett; one son, Robert, Jr., and eight grandchildren.

Miss Minna Marie Ziegert, 26, of 905 Linden avenue, died yesterday morning at 9:25 o'clock in her home. She is survived by her father, her sisters, Laura, Emma, Margaret, Katherine, Alma and Zelma, and two brothers, Paul and William.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock in her late residence and at 2 o'clock in the Evangelical Lutheran Christian church, Hart street and Grove avenue. Rev. Feeger will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.
John Zimmer

John Zimmer died at the Miami Valley hospital Friday after an illness of several days. Mr. Zimmer was well-known in the city. He resided at 58 Dover street.
The deceased was 46 years of age and leaves a widow and two children to survive.
The funeral will take place Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and interment will be made at Woodland.
A particularly sad coincidence in connection with the death and funeral of Mr. Zimmer is the fact that the father will be buried just one year to the very day his youngest son was instantly killed by electric light wires while climbing to the top of an electric light pole because several of his companions dared him to do so.

EARL ZIMMERMAN DEAD OF LEUKEMIA AT AGE 56
Earl L. Zimmerman, 56, of 3215 Merrimac av., an electrical contractor until about five years ago, died Thursday in St. Elizabeth hospital of leukemia. He had been ill several months, but was in the hospital only since Monday.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy E.; a daughter, Miss Betty Jean, and two nieces whom he reared, Mrs. Muriel H. Coffey and Mrs. Dorothy H. Miller, all of Dayton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Whitmer Brothers funeral home, 239 N. Ludlow st. Burial will be in Ferncliff cemetery at Springfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.

RESIDENT OF NEW GERMANY DIES SUDDENLY AT AGE OF 72
Mrs. Anna Zink, 72, of R.R. No. 8, New Germany, died suddenly at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at the Miami Valley hospital, following an operation. She was removed to the hospital only last Wednesday to undergo an operation for the removal of gall stones.
Her death removes a woman widely known in Dayton and New Germany; a woman whose life had been a sacrifice to the comfort and well being of her family.
Born in Fautenbach, Germany she came to Dayton when she was 18 years old. Her maiden name was Anna Ketterer. In 1877, shortly after she came to Dayton, she and Anton Zink were married at the Holy Trinity church. They settled on a farm at New Germany. She belonged to the Holy Trinity church, St. Helena Altar society of that church, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Branch 63, Maria Joseph Home for the Aged, and the Charity Grangers, No. 1208.
Surviving her are two daughters, Christina and Mrs. John Buerschen; seven sons, Aloysius, Karl, Anthony, Otto, Theodore, Frank and Max Zink. There are 19 grandchildren and a great grand child.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the residence and at 9 a.m. at the Holy Trinity church. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Burial will be in Woodland cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p. m. Friday. He died Thursday at his residence.
Mr. Zinsz was a retired plastering contractor. He was born in Owensboro, Ky., but had been a Dayton resident 36 years. He is survived by his wife, Laura E.; a daughter, mrs. C. E. Monnier; a son, John H.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of Dayton.
